Hi everybody,

I'm not nervous yet, mostly excited and ready to go. I'm packed and just waiting till 6am. I hope I can get some sleep tonite but I never sleep much before a trip. My sister Debra and I will be arriving at the airport around 9:30 and heading over to do the pre-op test. They said we needed to be there before noon. Good Luck to everyone this week! I'll keep you in my prayers. Look for me when you get there. Renee Burns and Debra Shipman. I have silver hair---you can't miss me. LOL

Well ladies, this is our week. Our banding will be the first day to the rest of our new lives. I will thinking of each of you and pray that each of your bandings will be great. I am looking forward to meeting all of you and hope that we all can remain band friends. I know I sure could use a band buddy after this procedure.

Anyways, everyone stay postive. See you all soon,

Candy

Yes - Yes- YES ! We are days away...look for me - Karin Gannon (Singer). 47 y/o redish med length hair, 5'4" 220...Red Flower Tattoo on calf, left side - can't miss that. Doing well on the pre-op diet, down 11 lbs. I am also thinking it would be smart to go shopping now for the first week liquid diet stuff to have on hand when we get home.

I do want to meet all of you and since I am the last one to be banded I will look you all up. Will anyone be at the Hotel Saturday afternoon - evening? I will be released from OCC Saturday and hope to (!) hang out at the pool for a while.

Hey Tim, Good luck with your surgery. Yes you are young but at least you are dealing with your problem now and not having to live with years of dissappointment, depression, health issues and so forth, like I faced, and many others, with over many years. Let us know how everything goes.

Take care,

Candy

Candy - you must be SO excited - do you leave tomorrow ? Please do come look me up before you are discharged, we will want/need to stay in touch. I have looked forward to and appreciated the conversation with you - I'm stuck now on the pre-op too - going between 10 and 11 - 10 and 11 - just like all the other diets. However, I leave Thursday so I'm getting close too - I'm so thankful there is this new tool to end the cycle. YAHOO ! See ya in Mexico Girl !! Karin

I am scheduled for surgery with Dr. Ortiz on July 24th. I will be flying in the evening before out of Tulsa. My name is Heather, if any one else will be there at that time Holla back.

Hey,

If you were banded on the 24th you might have been in the waiting area when we were walking out or you might be one of the gals in the lobby I talked to after my procedure. Either way I hope things went well. I am so looking forward to next year but am also very focused on my "present" and every day. Good luck. Let me know how you did. Light and Love: Jackie

Hello, Im doing great considering. They are right everyday does get better. I do have to admit the first day after surgery in the afternoon the hunger pains and growling stomach almost made me crazy and the ride home on the plane wasn't alot of fun either. Anyways I'm home now and things are just going to get better. What were you wearing when you left the OCC so maybe I can put a face with your name? I was probably the youngest in the waiting room with denim capris and a floral shirt on. (orange and cream colored)

Stasha, how are you doing? Thanks for going shopping with us, and I hope you are doing well. Singer, How did it go? I was so glad to meet you before your surgery. I looked like crap and swollen. Keep in touch.

And Tim, are you doing OK?

Is everyone's port still pretty swollen. I feel like my belly is lopsided. Hows the liquids going? Anyone hungry? Anyways, everyone update each other.

I'm also sorry we didn't get to meet also. I don't think my port is bothering me just the cut were it went is still sore. I'm hungry but I think alot of it's in my head. I notice that after about 2-3 hours after I have had something I start to get hungry again but I quess thats normal since it is liquids and it just goes right on thru. Let me know how your doing.

Hi Candy, yes, I'm home and glad of it! The whole procedure went well of course, although Dr. Martinez was so dreamy I had a hard time concentrating on what he was saying - LOL. I asked Dr. Ortiz if I would be okay to perform this coming Saturday and he said he was a "singer" too - then he burst out into a song in Spanish - I was already loopy pre-surgery and don't recall really "seeing" him, but I can still hear his voice - it was amazing. Anyway, the trip home kicked my behind, but other than that no problems. I too am swollen, the port site being the only place I have discomfort. Liquids are fine by me - my tummy is growling but I have no desire to eat. Wow, what a concept. Talk to you soon, Karin
