Fatcat
Armydad, If you went to OCC, I think it is past time you email Dr.O - sounds like something isn't right. Did you have the flouro when you were filled? Helen >
Jenn
Good morning Armydad, First of all what size band do you have? 4.2 sounds like a lot of fluid. Also as Helen mentioned where did you go in Mexico? Why did they empty it in the first place? Cassie (my 13 year old at the time) she got the flu. They unfilled her band at the time and she gained weight. She had to wait 1 month before Dr. Martinez would fill it again. They wanted any inflamation to go down and let everything heal. Please let us know more info. so we could get a better idea of what is going on. Thanks Jenn aka: From The Oprah Show *Cassie's Mom*

WAgal
yes they did xray i still have no restriction. and i still have problems resisting over eating. that is why i need the band to work. how do i email dr o? Armydad, Did you watch on the x-ray if there was a slowing down of the fluids as it passed through your band after you were filled? We saw how the band was working first without restriction and then with the saline put in, the liquid flow was slowed down after our fill. If you saw this with your own eyes then you do have restriction. If you didn't then I think your band is malfunctioning or damaged. Are you following the food guidelines? Not drinking stuff high in calories or having ice cream or liquid anything high in calories? May I ask what you are eating? You can call the office and ask to talk to Dr. O and get his email address. 1 866 Dr Ortiz (1-866-376-7849) Best wishes to the outcome of your predicament. Let us know what happens. God4me
Hey Armydad, Everyone here is concerned.......I have a question, what do you define as restriction? Sometimes after we get banded and then after we have our first fill, we seem to think we have no restriction beause is does not feel like the stuffness we felt right after we got banded. Ask the Dr, what is restriction " after a fill". For example, you may think at one meal you could eat more, then at another meal you get stuffed after 4-6 bites or throw- up your food because you did not chew or noticed that the food did not go down as well. Raise that question, because when you get a fill, the Dr knows what he is looking at and knows what will pose a problem later, say if the fill is too much. Last but not least....stay encouraged! Hanna thanks Hanna , i do my best with the eating and attempting to eat the right things. the issue i seem to have now is volume. i can eat too much. unfortunately this is a lifelong problem or i wouldn't have needed the band in the first place. i don't understand why it is not working. Monet yes i saw it going down and it seemed to slow he said he thought the pouch was too big but the band looked to be in the right place and working fine except no restriction on the volume. nothereanymore
Its really hard to keep track and make yourself eat smaller quantities of food until you get to the point were your fills are good. When I first started I had to keep an eating log for about 6 months. Its just a excell spreadsheet that I created to keep track of my food intake and I could find out if you are too low or too high in any area. I'll be happy to send this to you if you'd like - it will come as an attatchment - so just let me know what your email address is. Once you get in the habit of eating correctly you'll be good to go!
