trulytangledgrl
ONLY 29 DAYS UNTIL MY SURGERY!! =D> WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!! I am officially beginning my countdown. I never thought I would say that I can't wait for summer classes to start, but I can't... because that means my surgery date will be here! Summer classes start the 27th, and my surgery is the 30th! YEAH YEAH YEAH! I am so friggen excited. I have a question - for the pre-op diet, does Dr. Miranda contact us or do we email her? How does that work? I also heard some people saying that since they had a lower BMI to start with (mine is 33) that Dr. Miranda said they didn't have to do the pre-op diet? Hmmm. I have been trying to do protein shakes (2 per day) and a lean cuisine, anyhow, but... it hasn't worked out as I planned My job requires me to pretty much drive all day (I am a social worker/case manager for children and adolescents)... I have an office but I am there maye 25% of the time, and rarely have time to breathe let alone sit down and eat a meal. MEH. Anyhow, so this has been extremely difficult for me to do.... I pack my lean cuisine which is fine, but having trouble getting my other protein shake in cause I don't have access to a blender while working. So by the time I get home its usually like 9 pm and I dont like eating that late. What to do? suggestions? Thanks all >
The Redhead
Hi Carrie, You should have been given a pre-op diet (with all the other paperwork) by email when you booked your surgery. I emailed Dr. Miranda once prior to my surgery but other than that I didn't talk to her until my surgery day. Even though you have a low BMI you will still need to do the pre-op and lose weight (actually fat around your liver) prior to the surgery. When you book you usually are told how much you will need to lose. My BMI was also low and I was told to lose 8 lbs. ...though I didn't lose that much. Congratulations on your upcoming surgery day. :lb21: :cheerleader: Denise
Mackenzie
Itll be here before you know it! As for being on the go all the time- I think that slim fast would be your best bet- just stick a cooler in your car to keep them cold and throw some water in there too! THey also have little hand held mixers (i think they have battery powered) you could probably find it at target- if you still wanted to use the powder and mix your own! Good luck! bandgroupie
I called Dr. Miranda and she went over what pre op diet she wanted me on and how much weight she suggested I lose. So call her whenever you're ready to talk! Anytime is good You might consider buying the protien shakes and freezing them while you get ready for work, and take it with you YUMMIE ONLY 29 DAYS UNTIL MY SURGERY!! =D> WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!
