lock27
I know i post it this question early, however the situation has change. my doctor here asked if i wanted to have a fill next week. that will be only 3 weeks since the surgery, otherwise i will have to wait 8-9 weeks. does anyone know if that is too early. i am doing well. i have no pain, and most of the sutures are out. help please

But, why does your doctor keep changing dates? That sounds very suspect to me and would concern me.
brittania
I talked to Dr. Ortiz at 3 weeks out about getting a fill at 4 weeks and he said NO WAY! I felt like I was ready with no restriction what so ever, eating like I did before surgery! He told me that getting a fill too early can cause a slip. He told me no earlier than 6 weeks! So here I am waiting for my 6 weeks to be over!
nothereanymore
From my understanding its also is dependent on your band - some doctors put a fill the VG band during surgery. That was a discussion on this board in early 2007. It’s difficult since different doctors have different procedures, diets and programs. Since we are patients of Dr Ortiz we of course are going to follow his program, however I would recommend having a conversation with your doctor to understand why he recommends a fill so early.
