MamaMichelle
Autobiography In Five Short Chapters by Portia Nelson I. I walk down the street, There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I fall in. I am lost...I am helpless. It isn't my fault. It takes forever to find a way out. II. I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I pretend I don't see it. I fall in again. I can't believe I am in the same place. But, it isn't my fault. It still takes a long time to get out. III. I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I see it is there. I still fall in. It's a habit. My eyes open. I know where I am. IV. I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I walk around it. V. I walk down another street. mlgpdx
Man I am really struggling in my personal life lately and that totally sums up how I'm feeling. My band has taken a back seat lately but I am happy to say that I am maintaining my weight and not gaining.. other than a constant 2 pound fluctuation. I am scheduled for my first fill Monday the 12th.
Allcdngirl
Excellent poem. Just goes to show that we really don't think of the consequences of eating, and how it is just a bad habit. Thanks Michelle...
lynna
Isn't that the truth? Sometimes it takes me more than a few times of falling in to figure out I need to walk around.

Great Poem, it's funny how we all do that and then sometimes end up on that same old street for a while. I know that I am trying to stay on another street. The Redhead
Great poem. My daughter had to do a project with this poem in her Grade 12 English class. I liked it right away when she showed it to me. ...but then the rest of the poems she had to work with were Shakespeare, Kipling, Bronte, etc. ...I needed the Coles notes to understand those ones.
