bigali
I am a new member and I have been reading a lot about the lap-band. I am scheduled for surgery on June 6 and I'm very excited, but I have a few concerns. I been reading about the fills that you guys talk about and I have no idea about what you guys are taking about. Can someone please let me know what this refers to? Also people have been talking about not loosing weight with the band. I know that the band is not a magic pill, but I do think that it will help me restrict my food intake. Please let me know if I'm wrong. Maybe I need to do more homework on the band before I get it. I'm just so tired of gaining weight. I feel so hope less and know, I think, I found my solution. #-o
fat2nrml
First of all, Welcome!!! A fill is just that, the band has a "balloon" around it that is inflated with saline which makes the band snugger around your stomach. Mammamichelle has previous post that show the port and how it's done. Hope that helped!! Darlene
Paula Bee
Try this website and be sure to watch the video. The fill is when the doctor injects saline into the port to tighten up the belt to make your "stoma" smaller, thus filling you up fuller and longer. http://www.lapband.com/get_informed/about_...d/how_it_works/ The website is very informative.
