UH OH....Clothes that were too tight before are now too BIG

Recommended Posts

I'm so disappointed and so excited at the same time. About 2 months ago I found a really nice denim top in my then current size of 3x. It still had the tags on it. Even though it fit on top, it was tight at the gut and hips (my lifelong problem). I figured once I dropped a few pounds post band, I could wear it. Well I tried it on this weekend and OMG, it looked like I was swimming in it. Not only were the shoulders falling off, the gut and hip area was huge as well. Obviously, this top showed how many inches I lost in addition to the 11 pounds I lost post op. When I showed my husband, he thought I was wearing one of his shirts. He's 6'2 and about 275 lbs.

I've still been wearing so many of my pre-band big tops, I guess I hadn't noticed how much of a difference I've gone through. I'm still in that fat girl mentality.

Woohoo...I love my band!

You'll notice this problem gets worse as you lose weight. LOL. I'd say its a good problem. My closet is almost bare. I've taken so many clothes to Goodwill, in fact I just went through my closet and filled another large plastic sack full of clothes that are to big. Remember to get a reciept from whomever you donate your clothes to,, you can write that off your taxes as a donation,, Along with your surgery and "all" related costs.

Way to go. I don't really have that problem yet. I have lost 27lbs but when I was gaining weight I simply refused to buy anymore clothes. I just would not go up another size. So I would just "paint" my size 16 pants/jeans on. But I can honestly say that in a couple of weeks I will have to search through them to find some 14s. Praise the Lord!!

=D> Poor you! Here's a hug for your problem. ><' hahahahah

Isn't it wonderful? To put on something that was always too small to wear and find it is to big. That's one of the sweetest rewards of losing weight. The numbers can go down, but it isn't until the clothes start becoming too big that it becomes a reality.

Congratulations!

Hi,

I realized that still having and wearing your big clothes can be nice but at times a pain for sure. You know you are swimming in most of them, but you either feel comfortable or annoyed because, like me, for instance, I had brand new tank tops or pants in my closet for so long, that when I knew I could finally wear them, they were HUGE on me. I hadn't worn some of them because of their snugness on me and so there they sat. It's so great being able to wear what used to be snug clothes and finding they are looser or now way too big, but they are comfortable for now so I wear them occasionally. I have also gotten some new clothes and a jacket early on, but still in a big size. Now I am getting really bummed because I know I am still going to and am shrinking more. The jacket I am really swimming in now, and the newer tops are really too big. When I got them, I just didn't trust the sizing of the clothes yet. I also didn't realize how much my body shrunk. ;) Yeah, it's great, but I still have those big feeling days. :(

Best wishes on continued success and congrats on the shrinking bod too. :)

Peace,

Judy

Isn't it fun when you can really see with your own eyes that your hard work is paying off, Clean out the closets and buy some new clothes! What fun!
