busymom34
I was just wondering if it is normal to feel this way. I am 6 days post-op and Im having a really hard time drinking anything. I get super nauseous with anything, even a sip of water. I am still on clear liquids (cant stomach anything else) and ever time I take a sip I literally have to run to the bathroom and try to get sick. I have not had over 2oz at a time. Can't seem to stomach chicken broth. I am down 15 lbs with 10 on my pre-op diet. Scared to put anything in my mouth. I am working and walking most of the day but can't seem to get past the nausea. Maybe someone can tell me what to do. Everything else is good no pain and some gas.
jena
Call and email the OCC as soon as possible. Do you have Dr. Ortiz cell phone number? If you need it let me know. You may be well on your way to getting dehydrated, so act quickly. Please let us know what happens! > Jena

I am 2 weeks post op and this weekend my 4 year caught a little flu bug and was puking all over the place (good times). The next day I got it and was terrified to throw up (don't want the band to slip) so I just took it easy and managed to get through it without an incident. When I read your post it made me wonder if you have the same thing. Bad timing to get sick but germs don't take that into account. You should keep trying to drink as much as you can, have you tried gatorade?

You should keep trying to drink as much as you can, have you tried gatorade? Yes I did go to the Doc Today and I do have a virus. It is horrible to dry heave I would rather have something to come up. I do feel alot better today and I am able to drink small amounts of gatorade. Hopefully that will never happen again. I have lost 16 lbs since pre-op 2 yesterday so I am pretty excited about that. Thanks for being so caring. Rachael
Alana
I am 5 days post op and feel really yucky, too. I get nauseous on and off. I don't know how much I'm supposed to be eating/drinking. I can incorporate yogurt now, but do I eat 1 yogurt or 5? 2 popsicles or 12? they didn't tell you these things! I also have diahrrea, so I don't want to get dehydrated. I'm sipping water and juice, but it doesn't seem to help much. help!

I am really a baby about vomiting so I am going strictly by the doctors orders. I am still strickly on the clear liquids and am 7 days post-op. I think I may try some yogurt and maybe something alittle heavier tomorrow. I think our pouch only holds around 2 to 4ozs so Im sure 1 yogurt or 1 popsicle is probally sufficient for a few hours at least. I am not hungry at all so I hav'nt really gone through the how much phase. I have found getting outside and getting some sunlight and walking around for 30 minutes or so has really helped. I did have diahrrea for the first few days but I will blame that on drinking real juice. Everything else is going great. Good luck and hope you feel better soon. >
