Being banded 6-4..I have questions... :)

Recommended Posts

Hi to you all, my name is Angela and I am scheduled to be banded on Wed, June 4th. I am going with my mom and dad, who are also going to be banded the same day at the OCC. I was very nervous about going to Mexico for the surgery but I have ben reading all your posts and feel more at ease now. I have been given the pre-op diet to follow and was wondering if any of you have any suggestions?? I have to do the option 2 diet and am finding it hard to stick to but I NEED to do this. I am very excited about the decision I have made for myself but am also very nervous. I would appreciate any suggestions or words of encouragement from any and all of you. You veteran bandsters all are a true inspiration and you all have done so wonderful!! I can't wait to be in your shoes!! Thank you to all of you who have read this far!! ;)

Welcome Angela~

I tried the shake in the morning and at lunch and a lean cuisine for dinner but I only made it 2 days. I was SO hungry. Then I switched to shake in the morning, lean cuisine for lunch and dinner and another shake somewhere in there. I finally felt full. Sometimes I would drink half a shake between lunch and dinner and finish the other half just before bed. I also made a schedule the night before.

8 am shake

1200 lean cuisine

3 am half a shake

530 pm lean cuisine

8 pm half a shake

Then as I ate them I would cross them off. Then I could tell myself "only a few more hours". It seemed a little easier when I took baby steps. Just do the best you can. It will be well worth it!!

Nebsmom...thank you for your response!!! That schedule seems to be right up my alley!!! I always seem starving enough to eat the kitchen sink at about 3pm so tomorrow....I will try the half shake and see how that goes. Thanks again...

I am being banded on the 2nd, but I am staying an extra night at the resort so I will still be there when you and your parents get to TJ. I am so nervous/excited/scared. I can't wait to have the surgery. I have been on the pre-op diet for three days now and I'm doing pretty good. I am a teacher and since we are having end of the year parties at school it has been a little hard to stick to the diet, but this is the reason I started it early. I can't wait to meet you. Keep posting, the people on here are wonderful and full of advice.

Heidi

(i'm going to have to try that schedule, I think that will be A LOT EASIER)

I am going to miss both of you in Mexico as my surgery isn't until June 19th. I guess I will just have to get to know you online.

Hopefully as it gets closer more people with dates closer to mine will come on here.
