sher
I got my band on Monday 05/12/08. Afterwards I was a bit sick from the anesthesia and vomited several times. I had to stay overnight and by the next morning I had developed a hematoma. They took me over for a sonogram where it was confirmed. Hopefully this will absorb on its own, but has anyone had this experience? Tell me what to expect or any pointers available. Thanks,

Thanks, I haven't heard of this happening to anyone here on the forum but I'm bumping the topic so hopefully you'll get some help. Best of luck to you! bandgroupie
Hi, I am the hematoma girl Mine popped up day after surgery and I was black and blue for several weeks. It was scary to look at but didn't hurt as bad as it looked. The swelling went down and I believe everything's good. I got my band on Monday 05/12/08. jena
That's a bruise, right? I was banded on 5/8 and I woke up with a giant round bruise on my lower tummy. It's as big as a large orange/small grapefruit and deep purple. Now it's purple/light purple/pink with green around the edges. It doesn't hurt, but like bandgroupie said, it looks much worse than it is. As a matter of fact, it looks pretty horrible. Jena ETA - I didn't have any swelling that I noticed. Just the giant bruise on the left side of my stomach.
Blazn
Hey Sherri, sorry to hear about you getting sick. I hope you are feeling a little better now. Where is your hematoma? Port site? I really hate that for you. Maybe it will go away soon. Call me when you feel better. I am working today (OPO) but off the weekend.
