Allcdngirl
Hi Kimra, I was reallly looking forward to meeting you while I was there. I was banded on Thursday and left Saturday. I really don't think there's any limit. With being on liquids only, everything is flowing through our band into our lower stomach. I am trouble getting alot of liquids in. With having to "sip" everything, it's taking forever for me to drink say a bottle of water. I am making sure that the liquids are room temp (even the liquid yogurt, I added today), as I find they go down so much easier.
Kimra
Yeah I wanted to meet you too!!! Dang it! We'll have to schedule our fills together.. But yeah, that is kind of what I was thinking about the liquid flowing right through, but someone said we can stretch the pouch even on liquids.. hmm.. i'm soo confused!!! But anyway, how are you feeling?? I wish I could get more comfortable when I sleep! BLAH
MamaMichelle
I limited myself to 1/4-1/2 a cup of liquids at a time, except water which I sipped throughout the day... Listen to your body if 1/4 a cup of soup fills you up then stop there, if 20 min later you feel your tummy rumbling try another 1/4 a cup. The post op phase is about healing but also re-learning to listen to your body's signals of hunger, fullness etc. I guess I was the lucky one because I got to meet you both, you guys are so sweet and I know you'll do great!! Allcdngirl
I'm doing great Kimra. Better than I expected. I just emailed Dr. Miranda though, as I started the liquid yogurt yesterday, and it's going right through me. She told me to start on the liquid protein shakes, and drink alot less of the yogurt. I will half 1/2 cup of the shake later this afternoon, and see how that goes. I find that I am always feeling full right now. Can't drink very much at a time. I'm considering myself to be very lucky at how good I feel. I haven't had any of the gas pains in the shoulder, and the others have been tolerable. I was just speaking to a friend of mine who had her surgery here in Surrey BC, and she said that she suffered for several days with the gas pains, was on the couch for days, and taking tylenol 3's for the pain. Wow... I go back to work tomorrow and sit at a desk all day, so hopefully I'll be okay tomorrow.
Kimra
OMG!! Thats GREAT! I actually feel a lil lucky as well!! I haven't had hardly any gas pains either! Its sooo nice! My friend that had the surgery the same day as me had pains really bad in her chest, so I kind of felt bad that she was in sooo much pain. Thats awesome that you get to have some protein!! I am scared to have to yogurt cause I have no idea how it will go through me as well! I feel pretty full with water, gatorade and popsicles too. Sounds like you're soooo ready to go back to work!! Good luck and keep me updated on how things are going with you!!
