Preop diet

I am scheduled to be banded Aug. 7th. in South Florida. I was told I will not need to start a liquid diet or any diet prior to surgery. Why do some Dr.'s have you diet and some don't?

The reason for the pre-op diet is to make the liver easier to work around. From what I understand, some people don't have to loose weight in the beginning because their BMI is already low.
