ElaineC
I have a question, how much are we able to move around (with minimal pain) the day after and a couple days after the surgery? I know pain is subjective and individual, but I need a reality check from those that have been there. I plan to get married in CA while we are out there and need to be prepared for what to expect. I will arrive at 10:25 am on the 18th and wonder how long it will take for pre-op stuff. If we are done early enough I could cross back over the border if we can get there before the office closes at 5 pm. Yeah, not likely to have time on the 18th. Surgery is the 19th so I figure that is out. BUT I figure it is possible to do it on Friday or Saturday. Thanks.

I would call it discomfort instead. I do run out of steam pretty quickly though. Hope this helps.
Kittycat
Congratulations on both accounts! On having the surgery and your upcoming marriage!! Are you getting married before or after your surgery? You may be a little sore and tired afterwards, anesthetic takes it's toll. You must have the most supportive guy ever!! Good for you!! You can always consemate your marriage another time! LOL!! All the best, Cathy
ElaineC
It will probably be either Friday or Saturday (one or two days after the surgery.) The offices are only open from 8am to 5pm on Friday or 9 am to 3 pm of Saturday. September will make 20 years that Cheryl and I have been together. We had a Holy Union ceremony 10 years ago, but that is not recognized by any state as a marriage. So, this will renew those vows and make it a government recognized marriage (even if it is not my home state.) We have waited so long for this! Congratulations on both accounts! karenlynn79
Elaine, Congrats!!!! That is so exciting (both). I have some out of state friends that are probably going to come here too to get married. I hope that other states will follow CA example... Plus San Diego is a great place to be near when you get married, I don't know where you live but it's so beautiful down there. I would say a day or two after surgery you'll be ok. Most of us were at least walking around with some minor discomfort. Good luck! Have fun! Karen
ElaineC
I live basically in Orlando, FLORIDA. I figure I will take my camera and see if someone else who is getting married will shoot pics of ours and I will shoot pics of theirs. I will even provide the film. That way both couples get photos of their event. Elaine
sunshinegirl
I was banded on the 27th. I had my pre-op work done the same day as surgery. Got there around 9am went through the paper work and tests pretty quickly. I think surgery was around noon. I was tired after surgery and did not have the energy to do anything else that day except watch some tv and sleep. Don't remember much of the day. Day after surgery I was stiff and felt bloated but was able to walk around pretty good. We walked down to the cantina and had some margaritas (not too smart on my part but they were delish). I couldn't walk very fast but was able to get around fine. Maybe you can also have your pre-op and surgery the same day so your first day in San Diego you can get married. Good luck
