If you happen to be at the OCC for surgery and fills, you’ll see these employees doing their jobs but who are they? Each week, we’ll feature a different employee of the OCC. He’s a recent addition to the OCC, coming onboard last April. He’s 28 years old, born and raised in Tijuana. He went to college and is a computer engineer. His duties at the OCC consist of technical support for all the office equipment and office Internet. He also manages the medical supplies, including the Lap-bands and Huber needles for fills. In his off time he likes to play board games, go clubbing, go to the movies and hang with his friends. So, when you’re in the OCC clinic and you see Jaime, say hi! You have seen this gentleman running around the back rooms of the OCC, He's always very busy. His job title is "Maintenance Assistant" His duties consist of cleaning the surgery room and the patient rooms,, making sure the OCC meets high standards of sterilization. He's been with the OCC for about 2 years. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family and he also raises roosters. You'll see Lulu assisting Manual and she also helps Dr. Ortiz with his surgery uniforms. She's also Dr. Ortiz's personal chef at the OCC. In her off time she's just an ordinary housewife with 3 daughters. She loves spending her free time with her family. Lulu has been with the OCC since it opened in 2006. Patients just rant and rave about her. Her name is Carmelita Rivera. Her job duties consist of waiting on patients and taking care of all their needs. Her name is Josef and her duties consist of doing your blood work, starting your IV and etc. After your surgery she'll hover over you and start your speedy recovery by getting you out of bed and walking up and down the hallways. She's a grandmother and enjoys being with her family in her off time. She is also the most mentioned employee in the patient testimonials. Her nickname is Jose. Everyone LOVES her. Gloria has been with us for just over 3 months now. Being the OCC receptionist, her daily duties consist of scheduling dental and fill appointments, preparing all the patients pre surgery paperwork and answering the phone. She's 23 years old and still attending school, majoring in business administration. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and boyfriend. Her job description consists of recording, documenting and managing all the medications and surgical supplies. She likes to spend time with her children, and staying at home enjoying weekends off. Dolittle Posted December 23, 2008 Author Report Share Posted December 23, 2008 "Meet the people of the OCC" Her name is Lori, She's the best patient care coordinator at the OCC,, just ask her,, she'll tell you so. LOL. Dr. Ortiz placed her band on June 15th, 2006. She started working with the OCC in July of 2006 and she loves being able to interact with so many band patients. Not only does she love helping other people on their band journey, but it also helps her stay on the bandster track. Lori has been married for over 20 years to her high school sweetheart, Mike. Lori has 3 wonderful children, Rachel (17) Teddy (13) and Mary (10). She has her very own security patrol, her husband and 2 oldest are black belts in Karate and her youngest is a brown belt. Lori's family is her biggest blessing! She's very busy with her job as patient care coordinator, but it gives her the flexibility to stay very involved with all the families activities, there is always something going on, church, sports, and school activities. I just don't know how she does it all,, she must be the "Goddess of Banded". You call or email her anytime if you have questions about your band or how to get a band!
