1jmk
Hi Lori, I've watched several different videos of lap band surgeries over the past few weeks and my question is for Dr. Ortiz. With all the experience you've had over the years doing lap band surgeries, do you prefer to stitch the band into place to prevent possible (future) slippage or have you found another way to combat this potential problem. Signed, Just wondering before my June 10th surgery with you, Janet K.
maxiebaby
Hi, I know by now you've had your surgery but I just thought I'd tell you that mine was stitched in place. I had mine done here in the states and my surgeon prefers to stitch them a little to help prevent slippage.. just fyi... hope your surgery went well and hope it's working for you!! Kittycat
Hi Janet, I am sure you probably have your answer by now....I had my surgery on June 10th too. Mine is stitched and I think it's standard to do so. They take a flap of tissue from the stomach and flip it over and sew it over the band.
