Hi there!

I was wondering if anyone has experienced a severe tightening in their chest? It started a few days ago, and I'm not sure what it is. It is extremely uncomfortable.

Thanks for your help

That doesn't sound right. I would call and talk to the Dr.

I agree.. talk to Dr. Ortiz. Better safe than sorry. Good Luck.

Is the tightness that you have just in the morning?? If not, I would call Dr. O like everyone else said, Just to be safe. Keep us posted!!

I spoke with the Dr. at OCC last night and he thinks it is gas. He said that sometimes the band does not allow the gas to escape so it builds up in your chest and back. I did not think I would still have gas 5 weeks post-op, but obviously this is a problem that may persist. He said to take the gas-x strips and walk a lot. So, I'm off to the gym this morning.

Thanks for all of your replies.

I was having that really badly in the mornings and though it was the band, but I realized it was actually acid reflux! I know weight loss will help that, but between now and then, I am starting on Prilosec OTC!!

Phazyme works better than gas-x. You can find it over the counter at any drugstore (or grocery store) in the heartburn/gas/laxative section.
