Will T
she has excellent recipes if you delete two thirds of her butter, and one half of her sugar -- "y'all"
Dontondan
Hey you can learn what to "avoid" by watching that stuff. It is still one of my favorite networks to watch....as long as I don't sample, and I am too lazy to actually make the stuff. I am living vicariously by watching what others eat! Blazn
Awww, I love Paula Deen!! Her homemade blueberry cobbler recipe is the best...but now we must eat 2-3 spoonfuls instead of 2-3 bowlfuls! We can still have the things we want but in moderation!
YorkieMommy
But I am a visual person, when I see it, I want it, BAD! So I stay away from food shows. If I watch the food network shows I swear I can smell it... hahaha.... then of course I have to go find it so I can taste it.
MamaMichelle
I have heard the food network called "porn for fat people" lol I love Paula Deen and I am with Misty just a little isn't a problem, but for me I know if I cook something yummy like brownies or cookies I will want to graze on it and sadly my band doesn't restrict those things so I come to the realization that I just can't fix them. If my hubby and son want something sweet they tell me they are going to the store and really go out and get themselves ice cream cones, in the past I would be mad at them for leaving me out of a trip for food but now I understand they are doing what's best for me and not even allowing me to be tempted into going because they know I'll want ice cream too, now that's love. C1BandedBabe
Michelle that is grrreat that your hubby does that for you! I think I may have to tell my hubby and my step son to do that for me too.. Cuz when they eat I want to eat! Thanks for sharing that idea with us I will definitely share this with my hubby... jena
Hey watch it! Paula Deen is from my home town! My sister owns an upscale wedding cake bakery and she does the cakes for everyone in Paula's family. As a matter of fact, the issue spotlighting her oldest son's birthday had photos of the cake that came from my sisters shop. How would y'all like to have a sister with a fancy bakery? I am so glad Savannah is 4 hours away from Atlanta! Jena

I totally picked the wrong profession. lol

I told my sister that they all probably have diabetes just from the sugar in the air! It's very hard when food is an occupational hazard! LOL! Fortunately, there comes a point that you start to hate all things sweet. But then go without for awhile, and start craving them again. Later, rinse, repeat. lol

I totally picked the wrong profession. lol I work for a chocolate factory!! I work on the line that enrobes things in chocolate, like all the nuts and pretzel rods and twists. We make speciality items also like s'mores and they are working on making chocolate covered blueberries... OMG are they good, I tried some of the sample runs last year. That's not the worst part of working there, the worst part is... from the day you start working there, you are told that you can eat whatever you want, as much as you want, you just can take it off the floor!!! [Like to the breakroom or home.] I've been there 2 years and gained 55lbs!!! And I have summers off!! We make all holiday candies, different sized Easter eggs [up to 5lbs.!] Dark chocolate, milk chocolate and we have our own chef that makes caramel, marshmallow and all the cremes and nogout[?] from scratch!! :lb12: I used to take banana's in and run them through the enrober on the days we did peanut butter on one enrober and chocolate on the other. :cray:

THANK YOU VERY LITTLE! Thank goodness I don't have any chocolate in the house. Our office manager keeps a jar of Hershey's nuggets on her desk and they shout out to me every time I walk by. fat2nrml
Funny thing is, I'm not a real big chocolate eater! I ate more of the roasted nuts, caramel and pretzels. Standing in the same place all day with all that in front of you is sooooo hard! I'll go back to work in August sometime and I'm NOT looking forward to it. It'll be a real test of my will power.... I've been doing pretty good lately.
