Going for my second fill today

Recommended Posts

Today I get my 2nd fill, which I am sure will gie me a total of 1.5 cc in a 4 cc band. I have never been told not to eat/drink before my fills but I read somewhere on here that you shouldn't. Is that true?

Also, does everyone really stay on liquids for 3 days after the fill, and if you don't will it affect your fill? Last time I had a fill I only stayed on liquids for 48 hrs.

Since I am getting tiny fills, I want to do what I can to make the most out of them.

Kim my friend is getting her first fill on friday at the same office that you use for your fills....Is that doctor known to give tiny fills are does he give good filling fills when you go? Also does he do them under fluro?

Hope you get a good fill this time sister!! Good luck and let us know how it goes...

He gives 1cc the first time and then when you can finally get an appt with him (been 7 weeks for me) he gives you .5cc at a time. I paid him $1500/cash up front and it aggravates me that he gives such tiny fills. We just really don't have many choices for fill Docs around here. I can't afford to fly back to Mexico everytime and the closest Doc that will fill a foreign band is in Baton Rouge, LA.

Dr. Avara does not use fluoro.

That does suck, but hey its close to home and you dont have to travel far to get your fills since you have little ones.

I am going to Dr. Mando in Kenner, La. he takes foreign bandsters.. I scheduled my first fill already in August so I will let you know how he does.. He doesnt use fluro either.... He charges 185.00 which is way cheaper then some other doctors... So we shall see...... Hopefully you wont need but a couple of fills to get you to your sweet spot..

The only people we tipped were the bellboys at the Hotel. They carried all our luggage and then brought us a huge basket of fresh fruit. I tipped them $5 apiece (there were two of them) and they loved us after that! LOL I guess $5 is alot of money over there.

Our trip was very rushed with the surgery and all so we didn't get a chance to do much sightseeing except for Revolution Ave, which we LOVED. The men will love you over there, fat or not! They loved me! Hahahah

Oh yes, we tipped him too! There was 4 of us and we gave him $10. It is such a blur now. Don't panic if he is not at the airport when you get there. He makes like 20 trips a day and sometimes he gets held up in traffic. We waited about 15 mins for him after we landed.

Are you being banded the same day as your pre-ops? We did it in two days.

Yeah Caroline said I am to arrive starving, I mean fasting that Thursday that I fly in so I can have my pre ops done that day.. I think I would rather do it like that so it can be done and out of the way so maybe I will be one of the first few to go into surgery...

I want to be able to eat a good meal that night! Did you guys really eat good or did you have a light dinner? I love Mexican food so its going to be hard to hold back...lol

We ate in the restaurant at the Lucerna. It was okay, but we are used to the local Mexican restuarants like Coco Loco, and their food is totally different! The chips and salsa were horrible and the food tasted weird. I did have 3 regular cokes though and they were heavenly! LOL I knew I would never drink them again and I wanted them more than food!

I actually didn't eat anything the day before. I would avoid Mexican if I were you. I was reading in Dr. O's book that foods like burritos, etc., actually added to the gas load during surgery and trust me you will be gassy enough after surgery without that added joy!

hehe

I think I would be ok with just taco's....... I wont be too greedy like I want to be if that means more gas...

So Jann you think taco's would fuel me up...lol......

You know I don't know?! His book was specific to burritos if I remember correctly. I can only assume that was the bean content? Far as I know tacos are veg, spice and hamburger aren't they? If that's the case I say HAVE AT 'ER and enjoy!

Hugs! I'm too excited for you! I can't wait for you to "come to the other side!" girly! I know you're gonna be successful! I can feel it from here!

Hey Trina,

I had chicken burrito and beans with tortilla chips the night before surgery and I was fine afterwards. Just make sure you bring enough GasX and Phayzime because with all of the pharmacies in TJ they do not sell these things there. You are going to have a blast and I am excited for you!

Oh yeah and remember when crossing the street be very careful! and RUN! lol! :D

HAHAHA! Erin you make me laugh! I will be sure to have my running shoes on when i cross the street! LMAO!

So Erin you think 1 box of Gas X and 1 box of Phazyme will be enough?? Because I have one of each but if you think I need more let me know so I can be prepared....

That should be enough for you. I ended up sharing with the others that were there with me so ran out early.

It is VERY amazing that there are no accidents though I will say I watched a few almost accidents.

And Trina enjoy laughing now because after surgery it is quite PAINFUL!!!! :D
