2 fudge pops

last night I had like 4 fudge pops

Does it seem like that is too much to you guys... Should I be drinking more broth and less fudge pops?

Sorry to burst your bubble Trina but I don't want you to do anything wrong. Fudgesicles are NOT clear liquids, they are consideed a FULL liquid (at least that's how myself and any other nurse I practice with sees it, I asked) So technically no more fudge pops until after 7 days. Then eat as many as you like...

Hang in there kiddo. It seems many people have suggestions of what they did but for real clarification call Dr. Miranda or take the advice of a trusted medical professional who knowsl :girl_hospital:

Hi everyone,

I'm confused now. The paperwork from OCC says you can have drinkable yogurt on day 4. Several comments state otherwise? Were some of you told differently than what the paperwork says?

Four days if you need to but preferably seven days? Or was I just too hard on myself?

Don't fret too much over fluids Trina. I was told drinkable yogurt and popsicles along with sugar/fat free fudgsicles were ok by day 4. That came from Dr. Miranda. But, since lots of us seem to have differing answers from Dr. Miranda, you night want to give her a call just to verify. I would think from what you described above, you should probably be having more to drink. It didn't sound like much to me. And, they most definitely want you to have gatorade ( I was told 3 small bottles a day minimum) plus some watered down apple juice. Those were the 2 biggies to keep up hydration, sugar and electrolyte levels.

Hope you are feeling better soon!!!

You are in the hard part now. But it only is 3 weeks and some of it is already gone. Just keep your eye on the ball. Glad your back. Dawn

I think I was a purist, I went to the far end of everything on the paper. Denise had to remind me I could have a yogurt.

Thanks for the warm welcome back!

It feels great to be a "bandsters", I am sure once I get over this terrible gas and bloating (ohh and did I say diarrhea too) YES bad! I will feel a whole lot better....

Hope I am doing this diet right.. I am on day 4 today and so far I have :

2 fudge pops

about 2-3 popsicles

1 1/2 cans of broth

2 little yogurts

1 bottle of special K water

Not that I'm the authority but the fudge pops, yogurts and anything dairy really gave my system hell and added to the bloating, discomfort and the diarreah. I personally would stick to the clears and popcicles and let your body adapt but you know your capability better than I.

I do believe Dr. Miranda said in 4 days the liquid yogurt is OK, but take it easy and don't drink too much to me.

I'm not sure Jann what is the right answer for sure.

I thought Dr. O said to avoid the minimum timeframes and work with the maximums. The minimums as I understood it were only if you ABSOLUTELY had to? Granted I was pretty stoned when I saw him.

Dr. Miranda also told me to eat veggies FIRST followed by proteins. I even questioned her when she said but she confirmed I heard her correctly. That flies directly in the face of Dr. O's book and every other book I read on the subject. I would imagine repeating herself over and over to every new patient would be tiring and mistakes can be made. I bought a case load of G2 Gatoraid Lite, 30 cals, to jump my electrolytes. It's a staple in the house now.

Yeah, not sure what she was thinking, but the veggies first is wrong. It is definitely protein. I would think the repeating would cause errors too.

Dr. Miranda told me the same thing too.. Eat veggies and fruit first and then protein...She said we eat so much protein anyways when we do eat, that we get enough of protein anyways and we need to eat veggies and fruit to prevent colon cancer.

Hi Trina, it'a Barb....Your back and banded...Yeah.

Most of the crew that got banded with me all had the GAS and don't get me stared on the flight home...here is what worked for us, mind you that it helps, not cures it toatlly. sip on warm, not cold drinks...and go for slow long walks, A LOT...i think that is why they drug you up and send you shopping the next day. I was banded on the 6th of June and even though i don't have painful gas, i fart like a trucker still. and although i sound like a pig, it feels to good to get it out. i know how it feels when it get stuck inside so i welcome the release.

take advantage of the retriction that you are feeling now, it will go away before your first fill. also, don't crunch up you mid section, i bent over to wipe something up on the floor and outch. that will ease away too. i streched out on the couch when i wasn't walking. i ordered some lap band books to read from half.com, they are only 75 cents a piece.

when do you need to return to work?

CONGRADULATIONS!!!! barb

Thanks Barb! I am back at work today... I got home Sunday evening and took off on Monday and came back to work today... Got a little light headed when I woke up this morning and looked in the morning at my incision right under my boobs.. its looks like it was bleeding a little bit.. Must of bothered it while I was sleeping.. And i cant handle blood or anything it makes me light headed and I feel like I could faint.. So I kept having to go lay down on the bed for a while and then get up brush my teeth and then go lay back down...lol.... but other then that I am fine... I have had some warm broth and special K water this morning that is about all but my tummy is just a rumbling this morning... Still battling with gas but other then that I am good..

How are you feeling? How long did it take for the glue to come off of your incisions? I have a band aid on that one cuz my sports bra is bothering it..

it took about two and a half weeks for the glue to be picked off by me. it will keep infection out and make for a better scar if you leave it alone. when the glue comes off, so will the funky color around them too, and they will look better than you thought. it's one more price to pay for health and being slim. it is so awsome having lost 25 pounds! keep reading what you need to keep informed. you are doing it. how is the sitting going? sit up tall. Barb

Yeah I am trying to leave the incisions alone.. I dont want nasty ugly scars so I am going to baby them.... Sitting is not bad so far.. I sit at a desk all day and I am trying to sit up straight so it does not start bothering me...

25 pounds is awesome Barb! Is that how much you have lost since surgery?

Hey Trina!

I just wanted to check on you this morning. That's great you are back to work already!

By the way, it has only been 3 months since my surgery and since I have been tanning you have to search for my small incisions. The port one is noticeable, but not too bad.

Hi Kim thanks for checking on me! I am doing good my tummy is just rumbling bad, and I have "juicy booty" (diarrhea) I havent had anything but maybe 1/4 cup of broth and still sipping on the same special k water from this morning.. I go to lunch at 11 and i am going to try to finish off this 1/2 cup of broth I have so maybe my tummy will quit rumbling...

How long after your surgery did you start back tanning? I am sooooo white and cant stand it! lol

I don't get in a tanning bed, but I do lay out at our pool (when it's not storming! lol)
