Recovery time

I would like to know how long it takes to fully recover from the surgery?

How long before you can go back to work?

Recovery is virtuallt no time at all. I felt great right after the surgery and went shopping the next day. Going back to work really depends on what you do. I am a school bus driver and I was ready to go back to work in 3 days. Dr. O says 5 days after surgery is typical.

I had my surgery on a Monday as was back to work on Thursday. I am an Esthetican & Massage Therapist. I was "OK" but wished I had taken an extra day only because of some gas and a little discomfort standing & stretching all day.

I was banded on a Monday, took in the sights in TJ Tuesday, Flew home Wednesday and back to work on Saturday.

I was banded on Friday, flew home on Sunday - took Monday off and was back to work by Tuesday. But I sit behind a desk so I can get away with more. And I was fine with it - if I was doing anything physical for my job I'd most likely add a couple of days on there just to give my body more time to heal.

Ditto Lisa's scenario. I did it over Memorial Day weekend so I had the extra Monday off before returning to work.

At work, I just moved a little slower than usual. Was hard to bend over and pick up something from the floor by the weekend though I was feeling pretty good again, just tired and worn out.

Don't know how moms of young toddlers/children do it. I think I would have had to take time off from that!

Went to TJ on Monday, banded on Tuesday got home Thursday nite and went to work on Friday morning.

I work with a 60 year old woman who had it done locally on Friday and was back to work on monday. I had mine done on a monday but I only work part time so I had 2 weeks to recover before I went back. I would have been able to go back much sooner if I had to.
