housecatgirl
I know how you feel. I am struggling to keep the 10 lbs post op I lost off. I would really like to see the scale move more. I am going for my 3rd fill tomorrow. Hopefully, as they say, third times a charm...
Guest marys
Boy, that must be super discouraging - I'm about 8 months post surgery and have lost around 15 and I really wanted it to be more - but to lose nothing must hurt. You didn't give tons of information but did Ortiz do the surgery and what have you done about fills - i imagine you have had a few? Can you give some more information on your situation? I do know that while some bandsters lose a lot and fast, most lose pretty slow - 1-2 lbs a week is average but I think if you are getting 4-5 off a month that is super duper - slow but steady is maddening sometimes but it is better for your body in the long run. So I know i do better when i keep a food diary and make sure my food is 1200 calories or less a day AND exercising 4-6 times a week. Again, the harder you sweat and the harder you workout equals a little more weight loss and i mean little - even strenuous exercise will probabl only yield 1 lb a week loss - you really have to beef it up to lose a lot of weight through exercise. A leisurely walk is good exercsie but its not gonna drop pounds off ya or me! So, they always say: are you eating three meals and no more than two small protein snacks a day? are you NOT drinking at least one hour after meals, and are you exercising almost every day? If so, you probably do need a fill - hope this helps - let us know more!

What is your BMI, if I may ask? I've heard that people with a lower BMI can have a really hard time with slow results.

Dr. lopez did my band, in KC.
housecatgirl
Stacey, Have you had blood work and a thyroid test? I would ck for various health conditions that may be attributing to this. I think I screwed up my metabolism from years of diet pills. Anyway, I had my third fill and am up to 3.4 cc in my little ol' 4 cc band. I sure as hell better have restriction now!! I am a low BMI and was told I have a small stomach....wish the rest of me was as small...so that's why I have such a high fill. I recently joined Curves and I am trying to exercise 4-6 X per week. I like what you said about exercise Mary and it's so true. Keep it touch everyone....Laura I have had 7 fills, and two unfills.
