Guest marys
I didn't think I would do it but I overate this afternoon and it was the worst agony and the worst pain I've ever experienced. I don't tend to overeate to super excess due to one really bad Thanksgiving experience BEFORE banding but this afternoon I fixed too big a plate, sat with two non bandster friends, talked, laughed - I ate slow but did not feel full (tho i admit I thought it was a big plate) So Bad bad bad - should have stopped at 1/2 -even 1/4 of that portion - it was measured out 1/4 cup rice and 1/2 cooked smashed black beans - I just had a fill and am having good restriction so big mistake. I will probably stay on liquids tomorrow but I am hoping I did no permenant damage - I hope this helps someone else avoid overeating - believe me, it is beyond horrible. LoriBecky
Marys I ate too fast last night and worse it was a dry piece of chicken - big ouch! I, too, stuck with liquids today to give my tummy a rest. I didn't PB and it didn't last long, but I feel irritated today so thought I'd play it safe. Let me know how you are doing. Guest marys
Thanks Lori - I feel better today (and even by bed) but I felt a bit bruised in the chest so i'm doing liquids today too - wow - I truly don't think I will do that again - It was very scary and so painful - I had been so careful since my fill bbut each day is a new learning - in the past, I ate what I put on my plate - even now, with smaller portions - I can't just scarf it down - i need to constantly ask - am i satisfied, can i stop? I've said it many times, but the band has opened my eyes to all of the behaviors/habits/tec that have put me in this situation - but it is up to me to use that awareness to change myself/my behaviors around food. Hope you feel better too.
LoriBecky
I'm so glad you are feeling better. Thanks, I am feeling better too! I had a scrambled egg for breakfast and 1/2 piece of toast. I still feel a little irritated, so I started with a hot cup of green tea first, and that seemed to help. Sometimes taking some extra tums or maalox or something helps to soothe you if you are irritated too. The liquid day helps to calm things down and my scale was down this morning, too - so i'm happy all the way around Keep me posted!
