Hi Everyone, 1jmk (Janet) brought an interesting article to my attention last night about metal in the band causing issues with an MRI.

I spoke with my clinic today, I do have an Allergan band and it's titanium that connects the band and it will not affect MRI or metal detectors.

I've got 6 screws in my knee, 2 in my jaw, and 4 screws and a plate in my neck. Surgical steel is non magnetic, so it's probably not too much to worry about.

Goodness, that is alot of screws. So it someone asks you if you have a screw loose, You actually have to check.

So does the other band used have any metal in it?

Like the other ladies noted, if it's not titanium, it will be surgical steel which will not be detected by metal detectors or corode.
