I told my periodontist, "I'm looking for a 3rd world country to have this done for half the price"! I need info. for a very reliable dental specialist in this area. Any/ all help very much appreciated. Sufina
stormy
She is asking if anyone knows of any dentist out there. At least that is my understanding. I too will be running into this. I have two teeth that will need to be replaced with implants and I will need to check out my options outside the US I cant afford how much it is here. I hear there are good dentists in Mexico. I would do a search on the internet and see what you come up with.
Rhondasue
As a dentist I can tell you that this treatment is not cheap. The implant components are very expensive for the dentist to buy from the best manufacturers. My brother who is also a dentist specializes and teaches implant placement to other dentists. He has been on the "reasonable" side of costs as he invites patients to be his surgical teaching patients. Just Cost on some of the better implant systems can be upwards of $1000 to 1500, then you will pay the additional for the surgical placement and the diagnostic stents and the temporary stage. On top of that will go the permanent crown. In Canada for everything the fees are anyhwhere from $2800 - 3500 per tooth. If you get it for under $2000 in ANY country I cannot imagine what type of components you would be getting. The titanium components are the only kind that are really biocompatible with our bones......it wouldn't be worth it to me to save money on cheap components now just to have the bone reject and not ossteoinntegrate properly and the implant loosens and is lost. I know that some third world countries use sub grade metals ( usually from Pakistan) and the success rate is very low. Just my two cents......in some things you really do get what you pay for. Like I said anything over the $1500 mark is what you are paying for surgical expertise and dentist profit. A lot less of the total fee is profit than you think in this area of dentistry.....it really is expensive for the proper materiels. Rhonda

I have never seen this before and I was told they are a thing that came out about 20 years ago, that is when he got them. This guy was one of the first guys in Oregon to do them and I hear he has new up to date stuff. His name is Alan Snodgrass, he is in Vanvouver, Washington. He is very reasonable. When it was time to get my husbands dentures replaced he took payments and charged us a very reasonable amount. My insurance - Kaiser, who I just dumped. Refused to do any type of denture that clips in. I am going to see this guy about getting two of my teeth replaced. My husband says this guy is one of the best. You might want to see what he would charge. He is at 360-514-9212 Alan C Snodgrass, DDS. From what my husband says and I can't wait to find out. He is a really great guy. Let me know what he says. I got see him in January, I think on the 5th or something. Stormy

Dr. Ortiz wouldn't have her in his pactice if she wasn't. I think she runs a full service dental practice. You can email her at dentist@obesitycontrolcenter.com or call the OCC. skinnyagain
I had implants placed about a month ago. I was lucky and my insurance paid the whole thing. 2900 for two. This does not include the "tooth" to go on top of the implant. So far so good. I made sure I took out anough money on my FSA so that it will be paid with before tax money. PS I didn't get a warm fuzzy from the dentist at the OCC. Personal oppinion. Kim
musicalgirl
I know this is not specific to implants but I wanted to add that I had Marisol do zoom whitening for me while at OCC, and I found her to be wonderful. We had a great visit - as much as you can talk with your mouth full - and I would feel confident about having another procedure done by her. She was a real sweetheart to me...sorry to hear you did not have a good experience, Kim...
