I was a little disappointed that I couldn't get my first pick which was Dec 28th, but I understand Dr. Ortiz will be gone during that time, so I can't be mad at that, everyone needs a break sometime..lol. So I will be having surgery on Jan 14th!! YAY!!

Plus, one of my moms co workers and good friend of the family who is Mexican American, and owns a second home in TJ is going to show us around some weekend, so we can get familiar with everything before my actual date. :)

My surgery was with Dr Martinez because Dr O was out of town and i got a $300 discount. Dr M was great as was the whole staff. u might ask if dr M would be there at the time you prefer.

Congrats ckiki...you will NOT regret your decision. So glad your friend will show you around to be more familiar on your special day.

I know you are anxious to have this done and if you can have Dr M do sooner like Rod says, then go for it. In the mean time, really browse through this forum and gather some ideas, tips and hints. Get yourself familiar and prepare your first 21 days post op diet. Get yourself a journal to help your journey along and a binder to put important issues you like from the post after printing them. We are all here for you...good luck!

Actually Dr. M was available, and although I am sure he is just as wonderful as Dr. Ortiz, I just feel more comfortable going with Dr. O, since I have already done all my research on him. It will be worth the wait.

Thanks for the idea about the notebook to put everything in, that is an excellent idea. :)

Thanks everyone!!! I just watched Dr. Ortiz on "The Doctors". He is adorable!!!!! Watching the procedure, has lessened my anxiety about it, it looks like a piece of cake. I think the only thing I am not looking forward to is the gas bubbles. I had a c-section with my daughter and I just remember the gas bubbles were so painful, and then the nurse pushed on my stomach to release them...AHHH....I wanted to smack her..lol!!

Oh my gosh, this is so true!!! For the last 10 New Years, losing weight was number 1 on the list of resolutions.

Good luck to you Kimberly!! :)
