My goal dress...

Recommended Posts

Well, I've been so inspired over and over on this forum. I especially love to see the many 'goal dresses', and to watch the gals fit into them. So, I've been engaged for almost 2 years. Put off the wedding, simply because I couldn't fit into my beautiful wedding dress. I kept saying, I will stick to a diet and get into that darn thing, but it never happend. But... thats all changed now. I'm so optimistic and excited now that I have my band that I AM GOING TO GET INTO THAT DRESS!!! We have set a date for Sept 19th 2009. I had my daughter take before pictures in my dress, and boy do I have a long ways to go, but am confident that it will fit perfectly! Maybe I'll have to even have it sized down!!!! Anyways, I get to eat real food on monday, 3 weeks have flown by..

Hi Jaime, I almost postponed my wedding because of my weight but changed my mind and went to the JP on August 8, 2008. I thought that maybe we could have an anniversary party later where I could wear my goal dress. After the insurance company kept postponing for this reason or that I decided to go to OCC and I'll be banded on Nov 20th.

This forum has been a wonderful inspiration to me too!

Good luck fitting in your dress!!! :D I'm sure you'll meet the goal as long as you stay positive. Are you having a big wedding?

Jaime and Salena...you WILL get into the dress before you know it! Like Cathy says, take monthly pictures, like I was banded on Oct 8, then I will take a picture of myself the 8th of each month...so you can SEE the difference as your go along with your journey to the new you! Focus...be determine...set several small goals along the way...set up your exercises...BE DRIVEN! YOU CAN DO THIS! It's awesome to see other's successes and it keeps you going.

GOOD LUCK!!

Having a "goal" piece of clothing is a great idea. I have hung on to my favorite pair of "Daisy Dukes" that I wore 9 yrs. ago. I can't even get them over my butt right now, but, believe me, I will post a photo when I can comfortably wear them again.

Good luck on that dress, and I can't wait to see you in it!!!!
