I ate on day 5 post op

Help !! I am day 5 post op, and got so hungry that I ate a piece of lasagna and a sliver of bread. I did not throw up, nor did I feel sick. But now I am freaking out thinking I might have done something to wreck my band, although I don't feel any pain, and haven't gotten sick. I have scared myself so much that I WILL only eat cream soup and protein shakes for the next week, and then move to pureed for another week. Help, I need answers..... could I have made the band slip and not know it?????

Unfortunately, as Dr Ortiz says, you will probably not know until after 6 months or so.

I doubt that 1 slip will cause problems. But it is all attitude. If you slip now, you could

do it more.

Keep focused on the big picture. If you treat the band right, it will treat you right.

I also ate a lot my second week of solid foods. I was feeling guilty as heck. I hope I didn't

do anything to my band.

Don't feel too bad, just keep going. You can do it. We are here for support!

Remember-----attitude is key.

You are probably just fine...but a good scare will do you good!!

The post op diet is set out for a reason..your band needs to heal into your stomach and if you start eating solids too soon, you can jeopardize this and risk band slippage in the future.

Get back on track and no solids until you are supposed to!!!

Here's your kick in the butt buttercup!!
