Skinny Jenny
I have recently been diagnosed with PCOS, poly cystic ovarian syndrome. My doc tells me this is from hypre insulin sensitivity. I am and have had a really hard time loosing weight. I was banded on 9-21 and have lost about 14 pounds and this included the pre-op. I'm a little frustrated. Does anyone else out there suffer from this and what are you doing to get the weight off and regulate your blood sugars? april
I too have PCOS. While I havent been banded yet, in an attempt to help me lose weight the doctor put me on a medicine called Avadament which is a mix between Glucophage and Avandia. They are both antidiabetic drugs. It does seem to help with cravings for carbs. Just a word to the wise though, if you do get put on it, the Glucophage will make you feel like crap the first couple weeks and even up to a month, but stick with it cause it does go away. Hope this helps! Good luck to you
Chelley
I've been diabetic for several years and my diabetes was classified as Type II - Insulin Resistant. My body was making insluin but my cells wouldn't accept it. As a result, I was taking three kinds of insulin and giving myself 4 shots a day. Since being banded in April my wieght loss has yo-yo'd a bit, but I've been off all my insulin and my blood sugars have become near normal.
