nothereanymore
Me too! For breakfast I had Starbucks add my protein shake into my Starbucks double shot. (Again....) For lunch I had bean soup, couldn’t eat it and took a bit of the corn tortilla and knew it wasn’t going good. I’m going to drink another protein shake and go work out for an hour. And just based on how my band is feeling I’m sticking to liquids for the rest of the day. Bummer – I hate it when this happens! Lisa

nothereanymore
I'm pretty simple; I just take nonfat black beans and add Pico de Gallo salsa to them. It’s my fast and cheap version. (If I need them to be “softer” I’ll blend some beans with chunky tomato sauce for extra broth). And add some extra hotness or non fat sour cream if I’m in the mood. I was so busy today I just had my usual Starbucks protein shake and that was it for today. I worked out for an hour – 20 minutes elliptical and 30 minutes weights, I’m doing it every day until vaca. Now I'm having that new frozen shrimp wonton soup from Costco. I love it, I drink a little bit of the broth first, (to kind of warm up my band) and then just eat a couple of the shrimps. This is really yummy to me right now and I’m totally into easy! I came home and my husband had put up the tree on his own – after 28 years of marriage this was the first time he did this! Life is good!
Musiclover
That's nice Lisa, I am 17+ years in and still trying to get dh to pick up his clothes off the floor. Got any tips? Just kidding, I have no complaints actually, he is my biggest supporter. I love those SB protein shakes, I am hoping we get a Starbucks in our little town soon. I get one whenever I get into the closest big town (only 10 minutes away but I have small children so I tend to stay close to home) so here's hoping...I have read you travel a bit, what do you recommend for eating on the run? mlgpdx
Ok which bean soup is Lisa and Mindy eating? Inquiring minds want to know!! HI Evette! How are you? ahhh.. I love to cook so bean soup for me is usually the following 1 package lean ground turkey.. cook it then add the following 1 can diced tomatoes 1 can caribbean chili beans.. they are well seasoned.. (I don't drain the beans, I add it "as is" ) 2 cans of broth .. either beef or chicken or veggie.. doeesn't matter.. and if I don't have it I just add water. easy peasy sometimes I throw in veggies but usally just stick with the above salt/pepper/chili flakes/garlic powder and if I have it a chili seasoning packet let it all simmer then that is my soup for the week. It's super easy, lots of protein and fiber.. if I'm having "tight" day I will even blend it a little with a hand blender. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE trader Joe's vegetarian chili w/ tofu. Sounds gross (and I'm picky about flavor) but it is super good. I love to have that on hand for quick meals. I will even add it to the above soup receipe sometimes when I need to stretch it out a little. My Food today: B: coffee / protein shake L: nuts.. macadamia, almonds, cashews about 4oz over 30 minutes S: 2-3oz smoked pork / 1/4 cup bean soup D: was super tight.... ate a couple bites of chicken and knew eating wasn't an option tonight. pb'd it 10minutes later later: had a couple bites of icecream... don't know why.. still tight.. only good thing about icecream is it tastes as good coming up as it does going down. hahaha... Stress is knocking at my door since the weekend and I really feel it. I have been xtra tight the last few days... I really do eat more than this on a normal day. S: 1/4 cup nuts 2nd dinner: 1 cup soup: thai soup.. chix broth/ground chicken/carrots and a little rice late night snack: 1 cup ice cream oooohhhh.. I got lots of food AND water in today.. honestly it felt really good to eat and kinda fuel up.. I haven't eaten enough the last few days so today felt really good. for me it really works to eat more ever week or so.. kind shakes up my body. nothereanymore
That's how it is for me - its pretty much just fuel at this point. I like strong taste's better than before, a good intense balsamic vinegar – I can’t do without. But mmmmm spanish coffee sounds good. Had my normal protein shake Cup of veggie soup – couldn’t finish it (I drink a little broth first and then try to eat the veggies) Worked out after work Drank a protein shake on the way home Cup of good hearty tomato soup with no milk Danced a little because I was bored…. Some balsamic vinegar over blue cheese - *Just a little – (I was craving a weird flavor) Normally I’ve been eating more – between work and wanting to get my body toned I’m having a hard time and I need to try and focus more on it. I know I’m getting enough protein, the shakes each have 30 grams, and I take my vitamins. I haven't been loosing weight - since I'm really focusing on building muscles and I get that it weighs more. And I'm not sure about the hubby part - since I've lost weight he has been more helpful, hmmmmmm....... Eating on the run is hard for me, I do keep beef jerky and always protein shakes in my car. I'll also keep a bag of those dried peas (I like them and for some reason they go down good - you can get them at trader Joes)
Musiclover
Yesterday, B-Activia Snack-rice crackers and laughing cow light L-Baked beans (small can) on a piece of whole wheat toast, only ate half of small can of beans. Bread not going down well today. Snack-3 or 4 chips, didn't go down well so I only ate a couple. It is TOM so I am craving salt but my band always tightens up then so it saves me. D-5 hot wings. Went to the theater to see Australia, got there late so no time for snack line, saved again. Movie was great, food would have just been a distraction. Please keep posting ladies.>I love to read what everyone's eating. Thats just since my fill tuesday. Doctor wanted me to stay on liquids for a few days because he thought I might end up being too tight. Then, I thought I would stay on them for as long as I can handle it because that is the only way I lost weight before. Since eating food isn't working, I thought I would try liquids again for a while and see if that works. Prior to my fill I would have had something like this: coffee no sugar, little cream 1 packet of oatmeal 1 water 1 scambled egg and 1 breakfast sausage link 1 water 1 turkey patty and steamed veggies or: coffee, no sugar, little cream 1 scrambled egg 1 breakfast sausage link 1 water 1 tuna w/crackers kit 1 water chicken and veggies
jhawkchick75
Yea!!! You made it!!! Egg Beaters were my first meal and I did fine just take it slow. My tummy got a little upset the first couple meals because it was not used to it, but after a day or two I could eat anything I wanted and i've any trouble. Which is good and bad! Nice thing is thanks to the 21 days my stomach shrunk a ton, so although I can eat anything, my portions are like 1/3 of what they used to be. So i'll take that! My only tip is to chew really really slow. Primarily for practice for when you have restriction, but also that way you get full soooo much faster. It helps a lot!!! Good luck!! I would just like to say that tonight is day 20...WOO HOO! I am having some of a soup at hand, creamy chicken. I think I might have an egg for breakfast. Is this a good choice? Now you are progressing into the solid foods and all I can say is CHEW, CHEW, CHEW your food and take TINY bites, like a size of a dime. Eat slowly and wait until you swallow your food before putting more food in your mouth. I had an egg omelet with bacon and cheese and topped with chunky salsa. IT WAS SOOOOOO GOOD! I still have that as it gives me lots of proteins. For lunch, I like either chicken, steak, cottage cheese and/or beans. I have beans every day. As the days progressed, I eat cereal for breakfast or snack on dry cereal mid day. Keep up the good work!!!
nothereanymore
Hello, I drink the premier nutrition high protein shakes you can buy at Costco. They are actually in single box containers, which make them really convenient. They aren’t that great, and a little bit chunky – but I can take it and I’m more in how they make me feel. Plus since I normally add one to my coffee – the taste doesn’t bother me. And I’m so use to it that I can drink them on their own. The truth is I like how I feel after I drink one, you can tell when your body is craving protein and they have extra vitamins in them as well. (30 grams of protein and only 160 calories per serving) Today: Protein shake for breakfast Small piece of chicken for lunch with a green salad. I got a craving for carbs and sweets so I ate some Carmel Corn Quaker Rice cakes I’m going to El Gauchos’ today for dinner – so I’m not sure what I’m having. I will however stay away from any alcohol – I had three small, not even big ones, glasses of wine in a 6 hour span (spaced 2 hours apart) and I got trashed feeling. Not good – sometimes alcohol really affects us – I’m staying away from it for a while. Congrats Carrie!! Lisa

MyNewLife
Thanks Everyone, I will have to say as Shelby stated, I was shocked at how much I ate. Breakfast I stopped by I HOP and got two scrambled eggs and one piece of Bacon. I ate maybe 5 small bits of my eggs and a piece off of my bacon. I WAS FULL! OMGosh I loved it!!! I was so scared that I would be able to eat all I wanted since I dont have fill. (Hope this does not change) Lunch I had the hamburger pattie off of a Kids Meal burger from BK. Dinner my sis had a party so I had 2 pins wheels (tortilla with deviled ham wrap that are cut into small circles) and 2 crackers with cheese on them and guess what I was FULL! Loving it more...lol.. Anyway, thanks for EVERYONES support and GREAT advice. This is one of my fav threads. I love reading what everyone is doing. It helps me to know what to expect and helps me to know what to do! I look forward to reading more from everyone!
