sarahrnrx
Hello Everyone. I am scheduled to be banded next wk- Dec 3rd. Unfortunately, it is around the time of the dreaded monthly curse. Since I tend to retain water around that time, does anyone know if that may cause any issues like, sizing or anything with the band? When you get the band placed, it is not filled at all, right? And if I am retaining water, will the band be looser afterwards? I cant stop thinking about it! nothereanymore
Hello Sarah, Its not filled so you don't have to worry at all. The size is dependant on the size of your organs. I'm a boned big girl, (I was 265 at the time of surgery) I wear size 10 shoes, based on that I received the VG band, it’s the bigger one. I know someone who weighed more than me and received the smaller band. They don’t know what size of band you’re going to receive until they get in and take a look and a little bit of water retention wont change it one way or the other. All the best and congrats on your decision! Lisa
ckiki
I always wondered about this too. I even scheduled my surgery date way after that time of the month, because I wasn't sure if it would have something to do with the band size. Now I wish I would have just scheduled it earlier..lol. mona-camille
Yup, Lisa is right. Can't add anything more except, please don't worry. Everything will go so nice and smooth and you will love the place and the way they take care of you.
