Musiclover
So I needed a new dress length jacket as my last one was wayyy too big (yes I did get an inordinate amount of enjoyment typing that) and since 'thy cups runneth over' and losing 40 pounds has not changed this much, I usually lean towards a large but there was only medium and since it was on clearance I gave it a try and...low and behold it fit! I wanted to do the 'I just made the touchdown of my career in the superbowl' dance but it seemed inappropriate in the Superstore aisle so I just put it in my cart with a smile. This week I have felt the need to share this experience with my 'skinny' friends...I am wondering....am I falling into the 'size matters' set? Anybody else dealing with this new found need to share one's victories? How are your friends handling it?
Michelle2
SIZE DOES MATTER!!!! In any other situation bigger is usually better...heehee! Congratulations on your accomplishment! Nothing is as rewarding as getting into something you're sure won't fit. We are the same height, started at the same weight but I had my surgery July 21st and CAN'T WAIT to get into the 50's...I can only speak for myself but sometimes my eyes can't see the progress I'm making but the clothing always does. Good luck on your continues success, and go home and do that dance!!!!!

KatyG
YES! Size does matter. Sometimes, when the scale is being sluggish, a drop in size shows I am doing all of the right things and the scale will eventually catch up. I insisted I was a size 10 across the board even though I felt like I was 'shrinking' but the scale wasn't budging. We went into Ann Taylor and I was wearing 8's across the board... I jumped all over... size can't be our only focus, but it sure is something to rejoice about! Congrats!!
my_friend_amber
Honey, don't you let yourself feel badly for one minute - you are celebrating what we call a NSV - or Non-Scale Victory, meaning that something great has happened that's showing you your success, but that it's not coming in the form of the numbers on the scale. This time, it's coming to you in the form of a letter - M for Medium! Congrats and rock that jacket, sweetie!!
