Remember, to SIP, SIP, SIP and WALK, WALK, WALK ~ do several mini walks! Take Gas X strips, 2 at a time is what I did. Also, when drinking don't inhale through the mouth. Close your mouth over the water bottle mouth or straw and just inhale and exhale from your nose. This will elimate excess air in your body, which can cause burping. Move your arms too to jiggle the gas bubbles around and continue walking as much as you can. WTG and keep us posted on your journey!

vangirl
Hi Carla! Congratulations on getting banded! And yes all of your experiences are normal. I experienced all of those. The gas does get less, and the pain on burping also gets less. I'm on day 12 post-op, and I think this is the first time I can burp without wincing in pain. But I do get that really tight, uncomfortable feeling in my chest when I drink too much or too fast.
Amanda2008
Oh I remember the pain of burping, and that's nothing compared to a sneeze!!!!!!! If you feel one coming on, grab a pillow to your chest as tightly as you can to minimize the shaking.
jhawkchick75
The gas pain will go away, but at least for me the gas itself has not. I never could burp before and now I can let them rip with the best of them! But it's few and far between now when I get that nasty shoulder pain. Congrats on the procedure being over. Welcome to the other side!!!
