vangirl
Hello fellow bandsters, I am in the full-liquids stage of my post-op diet (am on day 15) and will be going to an Xmas potluck party on Sunday. They know I won't be able to eat solid food, but I want to bring a dish that all of us can enjoy, not just me. I was thinking something dessert-y. I was wondering if I could get some suggestions of something that would appeal to families with kids, but that I could enjoy also, even if it's just a small amount. Your ideas/recipes are greatly appreciated! Thanks! -Vangirl
Amanda2008
I would suggest a Jello dessert or pudding. I had some pudding with whipped cream during the second week of the liquid stage and had no problems with it. And kids love Jello!

Dr. Miranda said no jello or pudding during the 21 day post-op period. I have a recipe for a yummy Taco Soup that has some yummy juice. It is easy, easy, easy... cooking the hamburger is the longest part. Dump everything into a crockpot and you're good to go! Kristy TACO SOUP 1/2 pound of ground beef (season with salt, pepper and dried minced onions) 1 packet taco seasoning 1 packet ranch seasoning 2 cans of corn with juice 1 can of kidney beans with juice 1 can of Rotel with green chili (original or mild) 1 can of diced tomatoes 1 can of tomato sauce 1 can of water (use the tomato sauce can) 2 cans of pinto beans with juice

What size cans ffor each and when you can, do a separate post under the Recipe section, so all can see this and not be buried in this thread. vangirl
Thanks for the suggestions guys! And that soup recipe sounds yummy. I'm going to try it after I start solids, so I can eat the meat I had thought puddings and jello were allowed in the post-op diet. I've been having pudding actually.. Amanda2008
yeah I asked here about jello pudding, and was told it was OK! I had quite a bit of Jello during the 21 days. Not the first week, but after. I thought it was liquidy.
jhawkchick75
Unless they have changed the rules you can have jello/pudding during the 21 days. I agree some type of pudding dish would be nice. You could also take a soup. I've seen a lot of recipes for things like cheesy potato soup and things like that. You can sift out the chunks and enjoy!
