A friend who had gastric bypass said that a trick she and others learned is

to take a teaspoon of f meat tenderizer disolvedin a bit of water helps

to unstick foods that may get lodged.

Anyone heard of this?

YES, SOME MEAT TENDERIZERS ARE MADE FROM PAPAYA ENZYMES. I CARRY THEM IN MY PURSE. I'VE USED THEM ONCE TO HELP "BREAK DOWN" CHICKEN. WORKED WELL FOR MYSELF AND WITHIN SEVERAL MINUTES THE PAIN I HAD WAS GONE :)

How?Do you swallow the tablet with water? if so how can you drink with all the pain

PAPAYA ENZYMES TABLETS ARE CHEWABLE. YOU CHEW ONE OR TWO. I JUST GOT MINE AT WALLY MART

I KNOW THEY DON'T WANT PEOPLE TAKING THESE. THE IDEA IS TO TAKE SMALL BITES AND "LEARN" TO CHEW CHEW CHEW, BUT THE FIRST TIME I DIDN'T CHEW CHEW CHEW, IT STOPPED THE PAIN WITHIN SEVERAL MINUTES. SINCE THEN I HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS SO I HAVEN'T HAD TO TAKE ANY AS THAT'S THE GOAL.

  • 2 years later...

I have been throwing up everything that i drink for about 3-5 day's... when i called my nurse she advised me that i may have food stuck in the opening going from my stomach to my small intestine... she advised me to...

1 tsp meat tenderizer

8 oz warm water

sip on this until its gone...

she states this will either make you vomit the "stuck" item or

it will help you pass it through the small intestine...

afterwards if this worked she stated that i MUST do

48 hr full liquid diet

then

48 hr full pureed diet

(NO CHEATING --- NO CHUNKS!!)

she also advised me if this didnt work that i would have to go on steriods...

I did this today.... i am in no way advising you to do this... if anything i would advise that you

contact your nurse doctor or surgeon beforehand!!

the moment i was done with this it made me go to the bathroom --- and it wasnt too pretty

if you get what i mean...

so i would advise that you be at home when this is done because i have gone more then once...

hope this helps!!!
