NinnyEd
I have a question for all of you who flew home after having surgery in TJ. What was the flight like? I have over a 4 hour non-stop flight from S.D. to Chicago and was wondering if you had any advice for my flight home. I am hoping to be able to take pain meds before we get on the plane and just sleep all the way... 4 more days!!!
cleo6666
If you can...upgrade to first class on the way home. It might be too late now but it is totally worth the money. Call the airlines and check how much. If I would have had the option, I would have paid $100 easy just for that seat if I knew what a difference it was going to make. I was lucky enough to get the last first class seat the day of the flight at the check in counter. What a difference it made on the ride home. My lucky seat cost me $50. The only bad part about it was that in first class they serve wonderful food that you won't be able to eat ;-(
mommyrkr
It would have cost me about $200 to upgrade on the way home, which was the price of the whole flight. So not happening. But I was just fine. I didn't even take pain meds, at all. I did however, not walk enough, so try to walk before and after your flight and use the bathroom when you can on the plane. My air time was only about 3 hours, but I had a 3 hour layover as well, so it was all day traveling, and I was tired when I got home, and full of gas. My advice is to make sure you drink, but just a sip at a time, and walk whenever you can. Becki
nita57
My flight home was no problem. Never needed any meds once I left the clinic. The only problem with the flight was probably the turbulance inside my tummy if you know what I mean. LOL. Lucky they didn't toss me out of a window!! I have already figured out how to handle that while on the plane.... I could either look over to my husband and say "SCOTT!!! That is SOOOOO Rude!!" or do the old look around to figure out where THAT came from!
