tnm75
Have any of you purchased airline vouchers off of eBay, newspaper ads or Craigslist? I'm thinking of doing this, but thought I'd see if anyone has actually done this. Thanks, Kristy
Guest mansaw
sorry - nope, I am too chicken - I do everything on expedia... to fly from here it is $800 to the nearest big city, then $500 from there to San Diego...so we just drive for five hours to save that $800 (which by the way is ONE WAY) ridiculous ...but we live in a small town of about 7500 people in northern alberta. If you do try it - let me know though!

Most of the vouchers that are issued because they were bumped are not transferable. It is written in fine print on the voucher. If they are giving you frequent flier miles, that may be a diff story. Just be sure to get all the details on the voucher first.

tnm75
It worked perfectly! My flight for my second fill in February is booked! I had to purchase two one way tickets in order to use them both... but, my normally $500'ish dollar ticket ended up costing me only $200. Plus, I get to fly out of the airport closest to me (there are no parking fees) rather than driving the hour and a half and paying $15 per day for parking... not to mention a tank of full to get me there and back. Granted, my sister would have driven me, but in my car and with my fuel money and two trips to the semi-sorta-close-by-Colorado-airport. I'm super happy to be flying out of New Mexico!
