eswack Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 Hello, I just had my band surgery a week ago and I have noticed the whites of my eyes have turned a very distinct color of yellow. Is this normal? How do I get them to be white again? Thanks

One of my boys developed yellowish whites of his eyes at birth and the doctor said it would clear up but if your skin starts turning yellowish, that could be jaundice which if left untreated can cause liver damage. You should at least call OCC and ask them about it. Good luck. Hope everything turns out fine. Dawn
Cujo Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 All my medical training comes from watching Dr House but here is my 2 cents: Are you drinking enough water? If you are not peeing enough you can turn yellow as the toxins build up. 8 to 10 glasses a day.
Clynn Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 I've been around for awhile and that's not one I've heard before. Give your surgeon a call and ask.
mona-camille Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 Please call a doctor right away. I think yellow eyes is a problem with your liver. I know in cats it is and requires immediate attention.
