Amanda2008
Sure. I took mine with me but was unable to connect to their wireless Internet. Another person had the same problem. However, there are two public computers for patients to use to check email, post messages etc. I just used one of those and wished I hadn't lugged my laptop with me. Very nice service! jhawkchick75
I had mine with me there but never used it. I was brought there before the hotel so I had everything with me. You are so busy prepping and then surgery you won't really get a chance to use it. Then, you are nice and drugged so when you aren't sleeping you are walking so I just made a pit stop at the kiosk and sent some very jumbled emails - thanks drugs! You will definitely want it at the hotel though. It saved my life. It was either that, a Sunset Tan marathon, or Footlose in Spanish!
JennHB
I brought mine and had trouble connecting to the internet, I asked one of the nurses for help and he was able to get me on there. I spent about a minute on it then went back to resting, it seems vital but there is so much going on and resting to do I dont think you will need it, they have two internet ready computers available for use at any time as well. JazzyJude
My son had his surgery and reminded me not to take mine as he had troubled getting on the internet. So, it was extra weight for him to carry. Both the clinic and the hotel have computer access, just ask. HA! Oh I remember trying to type the day after surgery on the shoutbox and the girls were laughing as they knew I was 'on drugs"! Don't ask what I typed and what language I was speaking! Soon after this, I was too tired and just walked back to my room to catch some zzzz. Later that evening came back on the forum and was able to make a half a** decent conversation. One of the nurses at the nurse's station asked if I would post my 'testimonial' on the computer for them, which I did. Lord knows what I typed! If anyone knows me, you know I can write a book! Do yourself a favor, really, don't take your lap top...as some say, you will be busy resting and recouperating from surgery and not bother with anything. Give yourself a mental break... leahlanette
My mom and I were on the whole time we were at the OCC. Well mostly her since I had surgery, but it was very nice to be able to talk to family on there since our cell phones didn't work. When we got there the lady at the front desk told us the passcode and we got on easily. I was so glad that we took the laptop.
determination
There are also 2 computers available in the lobby of the Lucerna. It was a nice break from being in the room. The day I got there a very nice young lady that had surgery on the same day, let me use her laptop in her room to contact the family that I had made it there. Then because I was so drugged she evidently dialed my home number for me after my surgery. She was up and around and walking. I was in and out of it. Was able to use the computers at the clinic also. You are going to find that you will have access to computers as much as you will want to. Good luck on your surgery! Anne
louisem
I brought mine and had no problems connecting. you just need to get the password from someone at the desk (I think it was occlapband or something like that). I was on line quite a bit at the clinic because the anesthesia didn't seem to knock me out like others and I was the first one operated on. It was nice to be able to sit on the couch with my juice and surf the net on my own. The internet at the Lucerna isn't password protected and was easy to log on to so I was really happy I brought my laptop with me. It was especially handy since I decided to go back to the hotel the same day and traveled by myself so it was entertaining (when I wasn't asleep or walking). Cheers Louise
