Pamela
I am really confused about getting the lap band now that I have read some many posts about how the weight isn't falling off and to get a fill or not?? This is really scaring me. I would hate to waste my money on another diet attempt. Does this work or not?? How much are the fills that I am reading about? I guess I am reading more negative comments than positive. I need to loose 100 pounds or more and I don't want to get the lap band and feel as hungry as before the band. The throwing up stuff is making me feel a little bit uncomfortable too. How long does that last? The bottom line is that I don't want to feel worse after the band than before. I am a 36 year old active female with no medical problems (no high blood pressure, sleep apnea, diabetes or anything else). However, I weigh in at 260 and this is not acceptable! I have tried everything but can't stay motivated long term to get this weight off. I exercise at least 3 times per week which include a kick boxing class and a hip hop aerobic class. I am wondering if the band is worth the money. PLEASE let me know if it was worth it to you. I appreciate your feedback. Pamela

Pamela Hello Pamela Not sure how to use this forum correctly or not but here goes.....I understand your worries. I was worried to. I got banded Dec 2005 and started at 200lbs and am now down to 140. It was going great, but yes, I was throwing up everyday. My band was too tight but I was losing weight and didn't want to fly back to TJ to have fluid removed. I developed acid indigestion last June, then it turned into acid refluxby August and was keeping me up all night so I spoke to the Dr at the center and he advised that I come back to be looked at which I did in Sept, they gave me a de-fill and and then I flew home. My esophagus began to heal and after about a week or so, it felt more and more confortable to eat, oh and the acid reflux disappeared right after the de-fill.....so now I am planning on flying back to TJ in a week and have another fill but this time, a smaller amt. So far.....I am very happy with my results, I just don't want the reflux to come back and so I am going to try very hard not to over eat and as a result, have to vomit. Let me know if you have any questions for me, I would be happy to help.

I congratulate your success. I really think this procedure will work for me but I will continue to investigate it more before I make the investment. Again, thank you for sharing your positive results.
