lock27
hey everyone!! Until recently i thought about going for plastic surgery. i was going to have a tummy tuck, lipo in the inner thighs and breast lift. Just to give you a little background history. about 5 to 6 months ago, i went to have my first consult. i was only 10 lbs away from goal, and i thought hey why not get rid of the excess skin left by two pregnancies which will probably take those extra 10 lbs. the doctor said that i was going to need an extended tt. well i decided to wait and went back for another consult 2 months ago. the doc said that now i only needed a regular tt with no lipo. In the last 2 weeks i started this program called P90X, and oh men can you see a difference. the shape of my body has totally changed, and at this point more than likely the doc will say that i only need a lift of my skin. I must say that i am 5'3 got pregnant at 125 lbs gained 100 lbs and had a stomach so big that the doc induced me 1 month early. I am posting this for everyone that gets frustrated with the way their body looks after loosing weight, and dont have the money for the surgery. I know that it could depend on your age, i am 30 yrs old. however, i felt that i must exhaust all other options before paying 10,000.00 dollars for a surgery. The program seriously works. it is hardcore, seriously hard meaning that you will be sore almost everyday but it is totally worth it. Just giving a little hope since i finally got some hope myself. Smiley
Are you doing just the exercise portion or are you doing both the exercise and nutrition portions? If you are doing the nutrition portion, what is it like? I tend to be a normal food person - nothing fancy for me. Are you doing an hour every day? Where did you get it? I found it on the internet but didn't know if there were other options besides the internet and tv. I worked out twice today hoping that will help something to give as it appears I am stuck again. Having my final 20 lbs. to lose I think about plastic surgery every time I accidentally look in the mirror. I could live with the tummy, but as for the arms and especially the legs, no one should have to live with those. If I do have plastic surgery it wouldn't be until at least this fall, so I am willing to try something like this between now and then.
Christy26
Wow Kudos to you! I have watched those informercials! They look extreme and tough! The trainers at my gym are doing the program and love it - i consider myself able to do most exercises and that even intimidates me! lol Really, awesome job! Hard work can do alot Keep it up!! Hi, i dont do the nutritional part of it. i do the format that they provide you. some days is one hour, some other days is 90 minutes. the program was given to me by a friend that bought it on the internet. it really works if you follow the sequence. i work out a lot before the program, and i have never been this sore. this guy works some muscles that you never thought you had it. it is also cheaper than a personal trainer and i feel better since i had both. the program is a 6 day a week program for 90 days. just like you i was going for surgery but anything that is cheaper i will go for it. also i feel that if i do this myself, i will have a better feeling about myself overall since i accomplish it without surgery. ckiki
So what exactly is P90X? I have never heard of this. Is this something you can buy online? Is it expensive? Is a workout DVD type thing?
crazycoolbutterfly
:lb24: WOW!! Thats great news for you! Congrats! :lb13: And it's funny you posted this, because just the lastweek, I looked into ordering it online. BUT, my wonderful husband ended up downloading it for FREE, from his friend who had used it and bought in online. His friend also says its a GREAT workout and really LOVES it! It's a tough program, but I've heard great results, and so I am very glad you posted today. I feel even better that someone like me, can actually do this and see results that you are happy with!!!! GOOD for YOU and thanks again for sharing with us. :lb23:

Is a workout DVD type thing? thr program is a 90 day workout video program that you can purchase online. i believe is about 120 bucks. i used to hate workout video but i started with the biggest looser one and now i am used to doing videos at home. i will tell you that the other day i tried to go for a run before doing the particular video and i was spent. it is worth it, and you can ask any trainer and they will tell you that is a great workout. Kimmy in MD
WOW!! Congrats. P90x is a TOUGH KICK ASS WORKOUT!! I have other workout DVDs by the same guy and beachbody.com but I have to admit I had to return the P90x as it was too much for me!! So you have my utmost respect!! I wonder if now that I have lost over 60 lbs I could do it? maybe I will check that out. Anyway, back to your inital post about the plastic surgery. I TOTALLY AGREE!! So many of us are so quick to turn to plastic surgery and for awhile I was feeling like maybe I should want plastic surgery too, but I have decided against it....at least until I prove that I can't improve my body on my own. While I am not doing the P90X workout, I do walk about 6 miles at least 5 days a week, do Ab work (should do it more frequently) and 300 push-ups about 5 times a week. I have found this is lifting the muscles in my chest and while it is not "enlarging" my breasts there is a definite lift to them. My legs and behind are solid and my abs are getting more sculpted every day.
karenlynn79
That's great that you are able to make such a change in your body structure! I thought that that would be me too. In fact, I never even thought about PS before losing all this weight since my daughter was born. I am someone who works out 6-7 days a week and I feel that I have such strong abs (I do pilates all the time). Sadly, my stomach skin is way too loose and saggy that my muscles have no way of making up for that. So I am very much looking forward to my TT. Though I am already sweating the fact that I won't be able to workout for weeks! I will be so bored.

I agree with other posters here--bravo!! The P90X program (from Tony Horton) is a serious workout program. I just got Tony Horton's 10-minute trainer, and from some of the reviews on Amazon.com even the 10-minute sounds like it will give my pooch a run for the money--haha. I am 47 years old and I think I might have a shot a shrinking my waist and abs back into shape. I know that in some cases plastic surgery is the only way to remove the "extra" after weight loss. I am going to give this a serious effort. And for $80 (ebay) I feel like it's worth a try. Good luck to you--and keep up the good work! MyNewLife
My hubby and I have been watching the advertisments for this workout. I would love to hear how everyone is doing with this program. My concern is that it is going to be to hard core for me, hubby can handle it, but Im not so sure..... Carrie
